WHEN TWO WORLDS COLLIDE
This show was an important show to us for several reasons. First of all, it’s the first time we’ve done a show consisting of singing only (no dancing or acting or general foolishness).
Secondly, it’s the first time we’ve performed in the Emmanuel Church – which was wonderful and acoustically superb. Thirdly, and perhaps most important of all, we performed alongside a
large mainstream choir.
Jeanette Wainright (professional opera singer and leader of the 100 voices) led us all along an amazing choral journey that included a funky arrangement of ‘Amazing Grace’,
the ever poignant ‘I am Sailing’, a stirring version of Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ and the mighty ‘Anvil Chorus’.
We also performed a Latin chant called Da Parcem Dominae.
It was a great show and will hopefully form the beginning of a meaningful and productive relationship.
