STEP INTO THE SEVENTIES
Groovy or what? Our seventies themed show was perhaps our coolest, funkiest and most retro show to date. We showcased a broad range of material that was at times heart thumpingly exciting and at other times downright cheesy – but that’s OK isn’t it? If it wasn’t a little bit cheesy then it wouldn’t be authentically 70s.
The audience were stunned into silence by a moving version of ‘The First Time Ever I saw Your Face’ and treated to a number of massive, uptempo hits such as ‘Boogie Wonderland’, ‘Daddy Cool’ and an unforgettable version of the Rubette’s hit, ‘Sugar Baby Love’. We also performed some typically ‘odd’ seventies hits such as ‘Chirpy Chirpy cheep Cheep’ (still don’t know what that song is about) and catered for the heavy metal enthusiasts with a rocking version of Deep Purple’s ‘Smoke On The Water’.
As usual, the show went down a storm, and despite a brief lighting failure we succeeded in bringing back the magic and nostalgic mayhem of the sensational seventies.
