CHRISTMAS SWING
Christmas swing and what a Christmas swing it was - straight
back to the 1950’s.
This show was performed by the Thursday group who delivered a
superb performance considering they only had 10 weeks to put this show
together. Our very own 'Three Tenors' did us proud singing 'I believe' and
'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas', having learnt all the words in such a
short space of time. And what about the foot tapping duo in 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town'?
Well done to Steven Munday who became the lead singer for the first time and congratulations
to Jamie Pearson on his debut performance. A very special mention to Colin Wytchley who performed
wonderfully on both nights, without complaint, despite suffering from considerable pain -
a true performer who displayed real spirit and determination.
And what can we say about our Snow flakes, who brought a real sparkle to the evening!
We’ll leave that one for you to decide.
The show also contained two special guest acts – Kerrianne, a talented young singer from the Heritage School of Dance,
and Swing 8, a professional swing band led by the prestigious Gene Jarred.
Both acts went down a storm and we would like to thank them for their time and enthusiasm.
The show was a complete sell out on both evenings and all proceeds went to the British Red Cross.
